If you have a little ritual of snapping a photo of your food with your smartphone before your meal, there is a new set of plates made just for you.
Enter Foodagraphy – a new meal experience specially designed by Tel Aviv restaurant Catit and Carmel Winery (the largest and oldest winery in Israel), to up your #foodporn game on Instagram.
The first of the collection, designed by ceramics artist Adi Nissani, is the Limbo – a ceramic plate which comes in either white or black. Reflecting light directly onto your food with a high, curved back, the Limbo creates a lovely, smooth backdrop for elimination of all background distractions (or photobombs).
The result is a clean, focused picture of your subject at hand.
A photograph isn’t enough to capture the mouth-watering essence of your meal? The second plate, The 360, has a revolving base which allows you to spin your food in a dramatic, romantic manner while you video the entire plate in its full glory.
A tiny, yet extremely important detail which had been taken care of is a slot at the end of each plate for you to prop up your phone in. Shaky hands, lagging phone camera shutters due to low lighting are no longer a worry.
The plates and the Foodography event are not available worldwide as of yet, but you can experience the joy of having the best #foodporn pictures ever at a price of $155 at Catit (till June 2015). A top food photographer is also available there to guide you through your journey.
A quick search on Instagram with their official hashtags #fdgr and #carmelwinery for the results of the event proves that indeed, these plates should be on the top of the lust-list of any self-respecting foodie Instagrammers.
