While United Therapeutics Corp’s Martine Rothblatt, Orcale Co-CEO Safra Catz and Yahoo President & CEO Marissa Mayer took home $38m, $37m and $24m respectively last year, these white collar ladder leaders were beat flat out by music’s most sensational personalities.
Boasting almost 40 million Twitter followers, Rihanna is the undisputed queen of the Caribbean. She made a cool $48m in 2014 despite her less-than-PG lifestyle and openly declared penchant for marijuana.
Also lending her golden voice to endless collaborations with other prominent musicians, Alecia Beth Moore better known as P!nk earned a whopping $52m in 2014, making about a million dollars in each city she toured in. Always sporting an edgy look, this princess sits on a throne of several hundred million in total assets. Her $52m haul blazes her previous 2013 earnings of $32m.
Riding on brand ambassadorships with Diet Coke, CoverGirl and plimsole shoe brand Keds, Taylor Swift beat out Rihanna and P!nk with a grand motherload of $64m in 2014, which saw steep growth toward the end of year following the debut of her new album at number one on the US Billboard 200, which is her third album to have sold a million copies in under a week.
Ultimately, the Queen B blew the competition away. Beyoncé made an average of $2.4m per city she performed in, making a total of $115m in 2014, which is estimated to be more than double of what her husband Jay-Z made this past year.
Hollywood didn’t do too shabbily either, with 50-year-old Sandra Bullock making $51m this past year, 23-year-old Jennifer Lawrence drawing $34m and evergreen Jennifer Aniston reaping a nifty $31m from acclaimed performances in Life of Crime, Horrible Bosses 2 and Cake.
A worthy mention is fabulous-at-34 supermodel Gisele Bündchen, whose $47m in profits before taxes makes her the highest paid model in the world for an eighth consecutive year.
